JAMES STEWART KEENE CRACKS THE TOP 10 ON THE AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY TRACKS CHARTS
JAMES STEWART KEENE’s exciting new single Stroke of the Governments’ Pen has entered the Top 10 at No.8 this week on the Australian Country Tracks Top 40 airplay charts.
James is very humbled but buoyed from the support the track has enjoyed. He would like to extend another big thank you to all in country radio that have played his new single and collaboration with Australian music legends THE BUSHWACKERS.
Co-written with ALLAN CASWELL, the track conveys the tale of James’ great, great grandparents. The song tells the story how they and their neighbours where forced off their farms at Sherbrooke NSW by the Government in 1903 to make way for the Cataract Dam on the Illawarra plateau.
The song is the first written for James’ SHERBROOKE DOWN project, a period feature drama film about two intertwining true Australian stories set in 1903 rural Australia.
The tune is a powerful heritage song that not only documents a forgotten place in Australia’s past, it also tells a very personal story about James’ family.
Produced by ROGER CORBETT and featuring The Bushwackers’ distinctive traditional country folk voices and sounds, the song is one of many that will eventually find its way on the Sherbrooke Down movie soundtrack. James has been very busy working on what will be an amazing film project.
